Schedule when assigned content unlocks for learners and when it's due — all from the assignment screen.
When you assign content to a group, two optional timing controls decide when learners engage with it. The Availability Date sets when the content unlocks; the Due Date sets the deadline they work towards. Leave both blank and the content is available straight away with no deadline.

How to set availability and due dates
These settings sit inside the content assignment flow. From the Group Management page, open a group's actions menu (⋯) and choose Assign Content, then continue to the Assignment Details step. Setting up the assignment itself is covered in the guide on assigning content to a group.
- Open the date settings. On the Assignment Details step, click Configure Dates & Prerequisites to reveal Common Assignment Dates.
- Set an Availability Date (optional). Pick the date the content should unlock for learners. Leave it empty to release the content immediately — handy for scheduling a future launch.
- Choose a Due Date method (optional). Under Due Date, select one:
- Fixed Date — the same calendar deadline for everyone.
- X days after assigned — counts from each learner's own assignment date.
- X days after first start — counts from when each learner first opens the content.
- X days after available date — counts from the Availability Date above.
- Enter the number of days. For any of the relative methods, type a value in Number of days. The Preview line shows the due date this produces.
- Continue to Review. Click Next, check the summary on the Review step, and confirm the assignment.
Tips for best results
- Use Fixed Date for a shared compliance deadline; use X days after assigned for rolling intakes, so late joiners still get the full window.
- Use X days after first start when the clock should begin only once someone actually opens the content.
- To give each item its own dates instead of shared ones, untick Assign all content together with common dates before you configure them.
- The same panel also holds Prerequisites, which lock content until other content is complete — that's a separate feature with its own guide.

💡
Pro tip: If the same content reaches a learner more than once (for example, through two groups), the earliest due date is the one that applies to them.
