In this article you'll add an AI voiceover to a cell and configure the script, accent, and voice.

Beeline's AI Voiceover Generator turns a lesson into natural spoken narration, complete with a transcript — great for accessibility and for learners who'd rather listen than read. The voices are generated through ElevenLabs, and you add it as a building block while editing a cell in Build Mode.

Add the voiceover block

In the cell you want to narrate, open the block menu — click the + button or type / — and search for Voiceover Generator. Add it, then select Configure AI Voiceover.

Step 1: Choose your script

Pick how you'd like to create the narration script:

Step 2: Set the language variant

Choose the accent for your voiceover — UK, American, or South African. You can also translate the script into another language, such as Afrikaans (translation is currently in beta). Select Next.

Step 3: Review your script

Your script appears so you can read through it and make any edits before it's voiced.

Step 4: Choose a voice and generate

Pick a voice for the narration — there are several to choose from, including South African options. Generate a sample to hear one before you commit, and use the playback speed control to slow it down or speed it up. When you're happy, select Generate audio — it takes a few seconds to create.

💡 Pro tip: Generate a sample before committing to a voice — and remember the transcript that appears beneath the audio makes your lesson more accessible to everyone, including learners who can't play sound.
